Four Peace Corps Volunteers, several Moroccan volunteers at the Dar Chebab, kids of all ages and I recently completed a three-day mural project at the Youth Center. It went rather smoothly compared to most projects I’ve attempted during my service. We had a small training the day before the painting began including some discussion about the meaning of the murals. The community decided to do murals of a Moroccan flag, and images symbolizing HIV/AIDS awareness and pollution. There were some messy moments but it was really fun to see all of the kids getting involved. I could not have done it without the wonderful Moroccan and American volunteers.
